Urban Electric Rail Systems
 United States and Canada

The pages reached from each link below contain photos I've taken, recently or otherwise, along the urban electric rail systems in the United States and Canada.  There are over 2800 images posted, and each full-sized image is presented with commentary.

In every series clicking on any photo will take the viewer forward, and will eventually lead one back to that system's introductory page.

Heritage Rail Notes:

Lines displayed under this listing must operate on steel wheels, with power externally provided by electricity  Excluded are locations where the system does not serve the general traveling public on a year-round basis for at least fifty hours a week.  Examples of cities so omitted include Fort Smith, Arkansas; Kenosha, Wisconsin; Tucson, Arizona; and Yakima, Washington.

Coverage for heritage lines in San Francisco, New Orleans, Charlotte and Philadelphia is included within that city's Light Rail/Streetcar sections.
