PORTLAND MAX LIGHT RAIL
Junction, West Side

This image is not well focused, but it still conveys, to this viewer at least, some of the rail interest on the downtown side of Steel Bridge.  It is from some few seconds later than that shown on the previous page in this segment.

Unlike the ground-level junction to the east, where the Yellow Line diverges on its own, here the tracks separate and merge while still on the elevated ramps to and from the bridge.  Our train is arriving from the Portland Mall route, and is joining up with the original downtown line.  The approaching run will curve safely to our left; it is a Green Line run heading for Center City/PSU.
