PORTLAND STREETCAR
Streetcar Rails Cross

Because of its particular pattern of using one-way running along city streets, the Streetcar intersection at SW Market St. and SW 10th Ave. sees the opposite directions of travel crossing each other.

In this view looking up Market, the southbound line has been on that street for one long block.  The northbound Streetcar has been on 10th, from the left, for one short block, and it continues to the right straight into downtown, and beyond.

A switch allows for runs to turn back toward downtown without heading further south.
