NEW ORLEANS STREETCAR
Peculiar Trackage

This photo is again at Lee Circle.  In a twist peculiar to this location alone in America (or so I believe) the outbound and inbound routes briefly share the same short stretch of track.   It has to do with the logic of traffic circles and one way streets and it lasts for only a few feet.  It is a strange event to contemplate -- but an event very much befitting, somehow, for New Orleans.  This car is outbound, and is leaving the one-way portion of St. Charles Ave.  The inbound route joins from the right, and then it will branch off again just a bit further out to reach Howard Ave. briefly, and then next to Carondelet St.
