It seems entirely right for streetcars to be back on Canal St., yet
on the other hand, riding its rails can be fairly maddening.
Cross-traffic is intense, signals are red for lengthy periods, stops
are extraordinarily frequent, and many people require information or assistance with
the on-board fare machine.
