LOS ANGELES METRO LIGHT RAIL
Changing Tracks

This final scene in the Blue Line section returns to the subway terminal under Flower St. in downtown Los Angeles.  Trains proceeded past the inbound platform to reverse direction at the time of this image.  The run in this view is just about to switch tracks, and then it will pick up the afternoon outbound passengers waiting on the near platform.

7th St./Metro Center is a transfer point to the heavy rail subway -- the Red Line and Purple Line.  If the traveler wishes to use the Gold Line light rail, he or she would need to take the subway three further stops under downtown to Union Station, and transfer again.  Funding is being pursued to construct a surface route through center city to link the light rail from 7th St./Metro Center with the Gold Line near the Little Tokyo/Arts District station on the East L.A. extension.
